Use a release timeline as an equipment map
The official update history is reliable for which sets were introduced, but it is not a controlled ranking of weapon damage. The tutorial begins with a Stone Club and basic tools. Later regions bring new materials, stations and equipment categories. Ask which materials and recipes are currently available to your character before planning a distant set.
| Update milestone | Officially named examples | Practical reading |
|---|---|---|
| Fellhollow 0.10 | Steel Armour, Green Dragonhide, Splitbark | New material progression and equipment options arrived with this region. |
| Umbral Sands 0.12 | Adamant Armour, Red Dragonhide, Infinity Robes and related items | Later content expanded melee, ranged and magic choices. |
| Version 1.0 | Rune gear, Black Dragonhide, Ancestral gear and wands | New end-game equipment arrived with Scorned Wilderness. |
What exactly arrived in 1.0?
Jagex’s 1.0 notes name Rune armour pieces and several Rune weapons, including a sword, scimitar, greataxe, greatsword and crossbow. They also list Black Dragonhide pieces and Magic bows, plus Ancestral robes, wand and staff. The same notes discuss Dragon equipment tied to repeated success in Scorned Wilderness.
The update names resource and processing additions such as Runite Ore, Luminite Ore, an Advanced Spinning Wheel and Vis Cloth. Those clues tell you there is a crafting path to investigate in-game, but the announcement alone does not establish every recipe quantity or the fastest farming route.
For controls and first fights, begin with Combat & Early Gear. If you are heading toward the final 1.0 area, read Scorned Wilderness for its hub and raid building restriction. This page deliberately avoids an unsupported “best armour” claim.
