Join a friend’s hosted world

  1. Ask the host to load the multiplayer world. For players on different platforms, the host should choose the crossplay option when loading it.
  2. Have the host open the in-game pause menu and share the world invite code shown there.
  3. On your copy of the game, open the world browser, use its invite-code entry and enter the code.
  4. Confirm that the selected world is the one your friend intended before joining.

These locations come from Jagex’s 1.0 release notes. The notes do not spell out every platform’s controller button sequence, so this guide does not invent one. Read the live prompts on your own platform if its menu differs.

If it is a dedicated server

A dedicated server can be found through the Public tab of the Worlds screen. Jagex’s server guide says to search for its exact, case-sensitive world name and wait for it to appear. If it does not, check that the server and clients are updated, the name is correct and required server settings are present. This is a different path from entering a friend’s ordinary world invite code.
