The launch and new platforms
Jagex released 1.0 on September 15, 2026, after Steam Early Access. The game became available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PC stores and the Jagex Launcher. The console editions include the Early Access updates that had previously arrived on PC.
Co-op became easier across platforms
Version 1.0 added crossplay. Hosts can choose whether a multiplayer world is crossplay-enabled when they load it; eligible worlds appear in the world browser. The release also added invite codes, shown in the pause menu and entered in the world browser. Dedicated servers have a crossplay option too. Crossplay does not mean that a local save transfers between platforms; Crossplay & Cross-Save explains the difference.
Scorned Wilderness and equipment
The new Scorned Wilderness region includes a buildable hub and a raid area where building is disabled. Its story content includes Regicide, and Jagex introduced Kuldra, the God-Eater, as an end-game boss. The update added Rune weapons and armour, Black Dragonhide ranged gear, Ancestral magic gear and wands. Some Dragon items are connected to repeat visits to the new content. These are official item categories, not a universal tier ranking.
Combat and quality-of-life changes
The 1.0 notes describe changes to the camera, parrying, stamina, special attacks and controller mapping. They also describe a new building-system implementation intended to load large builds faster, changes to world and map usability, and the new Home Teleport spell in the Runecrafting tree.
This is a reading guide to a long patch announcement. For an individual recipe, ability cost or bug fix, use Jagex’s linked release notes as the current source and check for later hotfixes before relying on an older value.
